Textured Melamine: A Modern Look

You are currently viewing Textured Melamine: A Modern Look

Say the word “melamine”, and many home owners think of low quality, boring white cabinets suitable only for your laundry room.  The truth is, melamine has come a long way.  Textured melamine is a new way to achieve a durable, reasonably priced kitchen with a contemporary European style.

What Is Textured Melamine, Exactly?

Textured melamine is created by using heat and pressure.  A textured resin melamine finish is thermally fused on to particleboard to create a three dimensional effect that both looks and feels like wood grain.   Textured melamine is cleanable, durable, and comes in a wide range of contemporary colours and grains.  This isn’t a 1970s melamine kitchen!

Keep in mind, when you order a textured melamine kitchen from Vanway Kitchen + Bath, you’re still getting solid birch wood cabinets and drawers.  It’s just the cupboard door and drawer front that is made from textured melamine.  The boxes and shelves are still be the sturdy quality you expect from Vanway Kitchen + Bath.

Save On Cabinets, Splurge On Countertops

Textured melamine is one of the more economical styles of cabinet door. When you save a little on your cabinetry, your budget for countertops will stretch a little further.  This may allow you to upgrade to quartz countertops.  Quartz is one of the most popular materials for countertops and makes a beautiful focal point if you have an island.
